Job Description
    MANAGEMENT QUALITIES -
    • Experience in managing multiple clients
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Communicating with multiple stakeholders viz. leadership, auditors, donors, program staff, other consultants, etc
    • Soft skills including spoken and written English
    • Prior experience with guiding, motivating, and managing a team/juniors/client staff in their day-to-day operations
    • Able to work independently, assume ownership, and responsibility of the work
    • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with external contacts, co-workers, staff, and to work and maintain diligently a professional team environment
    • Process-driven and task manager

    DUE DILIGENCE & INTERNAL AUDIT -
    • Conduct financial due diligence (Pre/Post) for CSR partners.
    • Plan and execute internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and compliance with policies and regulations.
    • Identify areas for improvement in internal controls and operational efficiency and recommend corrective actions.
    • Prepare detailed audit reports with findings and recommendations for management.
    • Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.

    COMPLIANCE & FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT -
    • Responsible for managing clients’ compliances, viz. FCRA, TDS, PT, IT, GST, etc.
    • Responsible for preparing/reviewing clients’ financial statements, reports/MIS, and books of accounts up to audit closure
    • Reviewing donor utilisation reports, tracking over/under-utilization of donor funds and suggesting ways to optimise usage of funds; reviewing donor proposals based on client budgets and donor criteria
    • Reviewing monthly payroll as per donor allocations and Management plans for optimising usage of funds
    • Preparing organisational budget and tracking actual expenditure and variances periodically
    • Reviewing agreements from a legal and financial perspective
    • Stay updated with evolving regulatory changes and provide proactive guidance to clients to ensure adherence and risk mitigation.

    CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT & OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE-
    • Build and nurture strong relationships with not-for-profit clients by
    understanding their charitable activities and unique financial challenges to provide tailored solutions.
    • Act as a trusted advisor on financial matters, offering strategic guidance and ensuring client satisfaction through exceptional service delivery.
    • Oversee the delivery of high-quality accounting, taxation, financial, and compliance services, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulatory standards.
    • Implement best practices, streamline processes, and utilize technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.

    COLLABORATION WITH SENIOR MANAGEMENT & BOARD OF DIRECTORS/TRUSTEES-
    • Communicate periodically with Senior Management and the Board of Directors/Trustees on finance and compliance-related matters concerning client operations.
    • Attend Board meetings and present updates and key insights to the Board.

    Working day & Timings: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

    Location: Nariman Point, Mumbai

Desired Candidate Requirement

    1. Fair understanding of Excel, Google sheets, Google documents.
    2. CA with 0-2 years of experience or Semi CA with 3-5 years of experience.
    3. Logical thinker, ability to connect the dots.
    4. Willingness to learn.
    5. Preferable to have working knowledge on Income Tax, FCRA & GST laws and leadership qualities.
    6. Proven hands-on experience with Tally and Zoho
    7. Willingness to travel – The role involves occasional travel across India for due diligence assignments, typically once or twice a month for 1–3 days at a time.
    8. Good command of English – We’re looking for someone who is confident in both written and spoken English.
